Job Shadow Opportunities

Where curiosity becomes commitment.

CSC’s Job Shadow Program invites select seventh and eighth grade students to step fully into the rhythm of real work.

In partnership with Sleeping Giant Middle School, more than 20 Young Entrepreneur students are placed within local businesses each fall and spring. For 10 weeks, students visit their assigned business weekly, building real relationships and gaining sustained exposure to the workplace.

This is a season of learning.

Through consistent, relationship-based mentorship, students experience the day-to-day operations, expectations, culture, and skills required in a professional setting. They observe. They ask questions. They contribute. They begin to understand what responsibility, collaboration, and follow-through actually look like.

The program runs twice each year, including the current March 4 to May 20 session.

These partnerships create a powerful bridge between classroom learning and the real world. Students gain clarity about what energizes them, what challenges them, and what skills they want to strengthen. They begin making informed decisions about their future long before high school graduation.

In a rural community like ours, this matters.

When students build relationships with local businesses, they don’t just imagine leaving to find opportunity. They begin to see that meaningful careers exist right here at home.

The Job Shadow Program plants roots.
